Parent Company In 1997, Monumental Life was acquired by Aegon, a Dutch multinational life insurance, pension, and asset management company. As a result, Monumental Life became a subsidiary of Aegon. Rebranding and Closure In 2014, Monumental Life Insurance Company changed its name to Transamerica Premier Life Insurance Company. Despite the name change, the products offered remained the same, and current policyholders could still file claims through Transamerica. Despite its rebranding and eventual closure, the company’s legacy continues through its parent company, Aegon, and its wide range of insurance products that serve the needs of many American families.
